Welcome to Annie's my Wiki Page,

In this Wiki page, you will learn about how to play tennis like a pro! To get started.......... just read on!
In tennis, love means zero. If you win just one point, you get 15! If you get two points, you jump all the way to 30. Well now your probably wondering how many points you get when you win three times. If you win three times, you get 40 whole points! In tennis, scoring isn't all that hard.

Imagining

Imagine being number one in the in the whole tournament! Beating everybody you play. Wouldn't that be great?! Well if you think that would be your future, maybe you should try tennis!

Hard........ and boring!

Serving is probably one of the hardest and most boring shots to learn how to make. However, you have to learn how to make it. You have to have the right grip and you have to have your feet in the right place. But most importantly, you have to make the shot in the right area of the court!

Continental Forehand Grip, Left

Forehands, backhands, approach shots, volleys, and overheads. All depend on footwork. "Move your feet in line!" -Kevin . That's the quote that I always hear when I am at tennis! And from that quote, you probably know that you can't get lazy in practice or matches! If you have a habit of guessing where the ball is going to go, then thats not good! That's why you have to split step right as your opponent makes contact with the ball. If you split step, then it's guarenteed that you'll be ready for any kind of ball!

Can't Make it, Can't Play it!

One of the most important shots that you have to make is the serve. Why? Because that is the shot that starts the point. Now I know that serving looks easy, but it isn't. You have to put your feet in the right place, have the right grip (you alarady read about it in "hard and boring")and make it in the right area of the court. First you have to set your feet one in front of the other, then you line your hands up with the throat of your rauqet. After that, you bring your rauqet down and the hand with the ball and you toss it alittle bit higher then how high it is when your arm is extended and with your rauqet. Then you reach up for it and brush up on it to get spin, but if you dont want spin and you just want power, then you snap up on it. If you just follow theise simple rules then you are sure to have a killer serve!

Practice Makes Perfect!

As you know, there is always a quote: ''practice makes perfect''. And suprisingly, its true! You should practice atleast once or twice a week just to keep at it. Or you could be like me and play three to four times a week. Tennis is a very active sport and you always have to be ready. And by that, you probably know that tennis is nothing like any other sport!

Tennis Balls

Ok so you've learned how to play tennis but you haven't learned anything yet! In order to play tennis, you have yo have tennis balls right?! Tennis balls don't look hard to make at all but they may be hard. The tennis ball goes through 4 stages, the: slug, half shel, tennis ball, green felt, then logo. Now your probably wondering, "what the heck do all those words mean?!" Well let me explain. A slug is basicly what the tennis ball is made out of. It is a small rubber sphere that makes up half of the tennis ball so it takes two slugs to make a full tennis ball. A half shell is a slug that is compressed into the half of the tennis ball. And a tennis ball is...well..... simply a tennis ball! But the green felt is the green stuff that you see on the tennis ball that's all fuzzy. And the last step of making the tennis ball is the logo. The logo is what you put on the felt to show the symbol letter representing the company. An example would be for the Nike swoosh:
Nike.ca
Nike.ca
that would be the logo for the nike company.

Lefties and righties

Now when ever you think of left and right, you probaby think of writing. But, it is also very improtant in tennis. If you are a rightie and you are trying to hit a forehand, then that means that you hold your raquet iwth your right hand only. And that "only word" is very important word because
