Hello welcome to my webpage about a battle for Texas' freedom from Mexico. I hope you find good information about the Alamo on this page. Yes I said the Alamo. What! you do not know what happend then you must read this page.
What It used to be
Oringally it was built for peace. It was used as a missionary. Originally occupied by priests and monks. Later, a town was built, and it was still a peaceful place. All through Mexico' rebellion, it was peaceful. Then it changed when Mexico's government made bad laws and turned on the people of Texas. So they did not obey the bad laws and thats what broke the peace at the Alamo.
Before
After Willam Travis and twenty five men took a small fort by cannon point, they built up an small army and got supplies from the small fort. Their plan was to win back the land they had called Texas. The small army was made up of farmers and hunters. William Travis was a lawyer wanting justice for Mexico, so they decided to attack the Alamo becuse it had great walls like a fort. Not many Mexicans were there when they attacked. The rebels shot the first fire in the war. Boom! Off went the huge black ball blowing into the yellow wall. After awhile, the Rebels had either killed or captured the Mexicans. The captured ones were sent away at gun point. It was a great victory that wouldn't last long.
The Battle
More men joined the Rebels like Davey Crockett which brougt the total number of men at the Alamo around 200. Unfortunately, 2000 Mexican men came to take the Alamo over. The battle went on for thirteen days. There were lots of canons fired and guns shot. On the eve of the thirteenth day, the Mexicans made their all out attack. The first wave of men were immediately killed by the snipers. BANG! There was a single shot that endeded the leader of the Rebels at that time, Jim Bowie. The wave of Mexican men kept coming. The Mexicans began putting up ladders and entering the Alamo. The Rebels couldn't keep them out. Once the Mexicans were at the gate, the rest entered and ended most of the Rebel fighters lives. Only a small amount of the Rebels became prisoners. William Travis, one of the Rebels leaders, was one of the prisoners. With only 200 Rebels fighting, they defeated over 500 Mexicans.
After
When the Rebels fought the Mexicans the next time it was at the Presidentail Palace. The leader of the assault yelled, "Remember the Alamo!" In only 18 minutes they captured the Mexican Presdident and spared no lives along the way. They encouraged The President at gun point to give up Texas and the place for paece, the Alamo.
